S. Lee Fisher is the pen name of clinical pharmacist Dr. Sherri Lee Fisher Progar. Retired from pharmacy practice in 2015, Fisher decided to use her 'right brain' to pursue more creative endeavors. She gave up her 'snowbird' status, leaving the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA, and headed to Venice, Florida.

After S. Lee Fisher married her husband Ralph, she considered going back to college to get her Ph.D. in meteorology. The idea never panned out. Instead, she created a character with a career in meteorology.
